In April Ms. Henshaw’s Transition Year students curated their own exhibition entitled Poppin’ Portraits, which was held in the school library. Each student completed an A3 self portrait based on their studies of the Pop Art movement. Each student had the freedom to include elements of their own personality, interests or identity in their unique pieces. Each art work was accompanied by an artist’s statement explaining their inspiration. The students successfully curated the exhibition within the school library where it remained in place for 10 days, and was available for students and teachers to visit. First years were given the opportunity to cast a vote of their favourite portrait, with Taylor Neave’s interesting piece coming out as the overall winner.
