Anti-Bullying week will take place in Coláiste Muire from Tuesday 29th September – Friday 2nd October. Events and competitions during the week are as follows:

  • Internet safety an cyber-bullying presentations to students, teachers and parents by Dr. Maureen Griffin of MGMS training. The following topics will be covered:

Social Networking Sites (e.g. Club Penguin, Moshi Monsters, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

Chatting Online (e.g. Facebook, Viber, WhatsApp, SnapChat)

Online Gaming

Safe Searching (e.g. Google, Yahoo, YouTube)

Cyber-bullying (e.g. the psychological and legal consequences, practical advice on what to do if you are the victim of cyber-bullying)

Mobile Phone Safety & Sexting

  • “Who to tell” talk given by Fifth Year members of the “Meitheal” group to Junior students
  • “Impact of Bullying” talk given by Transition Year students to Junior students
  • “Bullying case study workshop” given by Transition Year students to Junior students
  • Anti-Bullying poster competition for Junior students
  • Transition Year students will a celebration for World Mental Health Day in Rochestown Park on Friday.
