Egg drop challenge

As part of their Physics module, TY students accepted a challenge to design and make a ‘contraption’ to allow an egg to be dropped from a height without breaking.

The overall winners were Andrew Jack and Tim seen here in the video with their invention which used balloons and was the lightest of the three devices. The other finalists were Fiona Pesch and Alice Brady (the middle group in the video clip) and Maxi.

News at a glance – December 8th 2016

The camogie team had a great win on Monday and the hockey team drew their match.

The Girls U16 basketball team lost to Colaiste Muire on Tuesday.
The Boys U19 team lost to Colaiste an Phiarsaigh on Thursday.
The annual coffee morning was held on Thursday and was a great success. Funds were raised for the library and the exact amount will be in next weeks news when it is all counted. The Christmas jumpers, the decorations and the festive music all contributed to a very enjoyable morning. Thank you to all the supporters!
The TY ‘Future is Food’ group held a very impressive food fair in the assembly hall during the coffee morning.
