Weekly news at a glance – Friday 2nd December

This was another busy week in sport.

The senior girls soccer team had a great win against Bandon, beating them 5 nil.
The under 16 boys lost their basketball quarter final but great credit is due to them for getting this far. The under 19 boys won their semi final and will play in the final next Thursday. Good Luck to them!
A number of students and staff held a Remembrance Service in the convent chapel on Thursday last.
Danu Ni Thuama and her team of helpers from TY raised over €800 for the Hope Foundation on Tuesday last. Well done to all who participated in the no uniform day and made a contribution.
The Third Year Irish Debating Team are through to the Munster Final of their competition. Congratulations to Ava Lehane, Ava Moloney and Luke O’Donovan.
On Friday, the Fifth Year Meitheal Team organised a Christmas Movie for First Years which was greatly enjoyed.
Ailish McMahon, one of our former students, has been awarded a ‘Quercus Scholarship’ by UCC for her excellent academic results. Not only is there a financial element to the scholarship but she also receives accommodation and mentoring. Ailish is studying Maths and Music.
