Congratulations to the Cadette girls who represented Coláiste Muire in the Cork final on Tuesday.
The girls defied expectations by reaching the final after a string of victories earlier in the competition.
On the day, the girls met an excellent Christ-the-King side who proved too strong.
Great performances nonetheless by Michaela Egan, Jessica Dempsey and Emily Burke-O’Driscoll.

In two admirable performaces, Coláiste Muire lost out to Coláiste Choilm Ballincollig in the under 16 and 19 league.
The under 16s did their best to stay with the Ballincollig side for most of the game before going down 38 to 23. Top scorer was Brian Crowley with 8 points.
The under 19s match was closer. Peter Jermyn kept the local side in it with a terrific display of shooting (16 points in total) but a very physical and well-drilled Ballincollig side manged to stay on top at the end.The game ended: Coláiste Choilm: 46, Coláiste Muire:37.

Last Thursday, the Boys’ under19 and under 16 teams had basketball games in Pres. The under 16 team played very well and the game was close throughout. The boys were down by 4 points with about 30 seconds to go when Alex Browne drained a three pointer. Unfortunately the boys lost by one point. High scorers for the team included Stephen Curran, Michael O’ Connell and Xavi Pin. The under 19 boys also put up a great effort, having only seven players for the match. Unfortunately, Pres pulled away in the forth quarter to win the game. The high scorer for Crosshaven was David Reardon.
The Senior and Cadet girls opened their season away to Glanmire Community School. Both teams played very well. The seniors won 60-24 and the Cadettes won 49-39.
The Seniors had their second game on Friday 14th October. They beat St. Angelas 42-16. Two wins out of two
